But the important thing is they have something else in the pic that is relative, think CSI when they take a photo of evidence and have a 90 degree ruler that shows the relevant size of the object. bigPaul Lost but trying Posts: 103 Reg: Mar 08, 2013 Darwin 4,530	02/19/17 07:42 AM (7 years ago) @ceerup,if you have a look at github there are some code examples there of working with images etc and looking at some of the 'measuring' apps they mainly use trigonometry calculations to work out distance and height. theoretically for straight forward measurement of smaller things, you should be able to use calculations based on image size vs image resolution(think 96 or 72 dpi) to work out the approximate (very rough!) distance between two points in a (flat)photo.
