record device screen with OS X Yosemite and iOS 8

Just found out you can record your device screen with quicktime now (device must be plugged in). No need to set the screen size or use something like reflector. Just make a new movie recording and select the device from the drop down. You can also select the microphone you want to use so the audio is quite good as well. This will be handy for making videos in the future. Figured I would point it out for those of you with the Beta. I would guess Apple will be letting us include app videos in iTunes at some point in the future. Jim

Hey, ya Apple announced that developers will be able to add videos to their apps description, besides the screen captures.

Yosemite stable enough to put on machine? Or does it break a lot of apps along the way? For reference, snow leopard was pretty safe as a dev preview

Yeah, I'm loving some of the new options coming to the App Store. Video "Previews" being one of them. I have an app that makes absolutely no sense with screen shots.

I haven't tested much yet, but so far it is fine. It did break my exchange calendar, and I had to kill the mail app twice with activity manager and reinstall my accounts. If you upgrade all of your old iMessages will be lost also. Some of the big things that I wanted to try and are working are - VMWare Parallels Chrome- (reports of it not working on the web) Pages Numbers iPhoto VLC the connectivity between iOS 8 and it are solid, and I like the look / feel of it. It is much more like iOS. I would assume there will be an update fairly quickly to address a few things. Jim
