Default Launch Images and App Store (1.5)

As you may know, BuzzTouch provides a default launch image for 1.5 applications. The launch image is just a blank (Black) screen, nothing more, nothing less. I was wondering: Is this enough for the App Store? What I mean is if I use these images as my launch images, will it be enough for it to be accepted into the App Store? I really don't feel like working on a launch image. I don't even see the point of one as my App launches in 1-2 seconds. Thanks

For questions about Apple's requirements, one should consult the Apple documentation found on the Developer site. http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/userexperience/conceptual/mobilehig/IconsImages/IconsImages.html

In your theme section, just remove any reference to a Splash page. If you have no splash page, there is no launch image, and Apple is perfectly fine with that. Edit: WHoops. Thanks David :)

The Launch images are different than using a Splash screen. @ Jenny21: There are tons of examples of apps that change nothing and go with the black launch images (portrait, landscape, etc). The documentation mentions several standards and best practices and I've seen some folks customize these. I have not seen an app get rejected with black launch images but I suppose it could happen. The idea is that even though your app launches very very quickly, it's still not as fast as an image. The launch image shows almost immediately and if it looks like your app's home screen it will be an 'improvement' in the launch effect. Summary: Leave it black if you're OK with the launch performance....update it to look like your app's home screen if your app takes a bit to load so the user feels like the app is working.
