Duplicate app on BT

I would love to see a 'duplicate' or 'copy' button on your applications page. I'm developing different apps but using a similar structure. I think this would be great.

Have to agree - especially if you want to push out an ad "free" version and a paid for version too. Would be so much easier then :)

Have you looked at Chris1's 'App Copy' script for self hosted? Affordable and complete. It will copy an entire app. If you don't mind recreating some screens, I have a far less capable script I created just to duplicate screens from one app to another, but it doesn't do childItems (Menus, etc...) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/115208762/smugcopy.zip Install it in a subdirectory of your BT Root, and link it via the Admin Control Panel (Custom Links). Cheers! -- Smug

Yep - App Copier works great ... if you're on self-hosted. There's no solution for Buzztouch.com control panels. My tool does let you copy *from* Buzztouch.com to a self-hosted server though.

Are you self hosted? If not, it's not going to work. If you are, the read me files should have installation notes. You're not saying whether you're using Chris' solution, or mine, so I can't get too detailed. Cheers! -- Smug

I have self hosting. I'm not sure if my server is setup and I'm looking for someone to checkout and test everything before start creating apps. Than I will duplicate what I have on my 1st app. I'm willing to pay.

Well, setting up self hosted isn't too hard; it's very similar to installing wordpress or joomla or almost any other php 'host' package. Just make sure you get the config.php populated with the correct values. And the easiest way to test it would be to build a test app, and download the package, and make sure things work. Things should be look and act the same as with BT Hosted, with some minor differences in options and some 'verbage'. Good Luck! Cheers! -- Smug
