Android Crash

When I use the app on the simulator or on my personal device I have no problems but I see a person who downloaded the software had this error message: Exception class java.lang.NullPointerException -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Source method BT_viewUtilities.updateBackgroundColorsForScreen() He says he is unable to open the application. Any thoughts?

Let me make a guess. Their device is an Android os 2.3.4 or 2.3.3. Correct? Fred

I have sent a request to the user asking for this information. Is there a way to see the OS in the developer console somewhere?

He was using the SGH-I717M which is available in Canada (same as the Galaxy note) which by default is using OS 2.3. How did you know and what is the significance?

There's a problem of unknown source that I've been able to determine affects those Android os & BTv1.5. Someone either with a higher or lower paygrade hopefully will find the source of the problem and perhaps a solution. Consider not supporting 2.3.3, 2.3.4. My recommendation is to strongly consider BTv2.0. Fred

I've alerted the buzztouch gurus to this issue, which seems to becoming more and more prevalent, and they are looking into it. Hope to see some sort of resolution soon! Mark

For what it's worth, I have two Android apps on the market, one created with v1.4, and another with v2.0, and have not seen this problem in almost 1000 total installs. I have not made any restrictions on which Android version to support. Mark

Is there a way to create image headers in simple menus with v 2.0. I use that for a lot of the interaction in the app but I don't see that as an option. I'm not a big fan of starting over with the coding for v2.0 but if it is able to do all of the same things without the error then I might have to. Confused Guy
