Twenty Minute Tutorial : Enabling Google Maps in the Android Emulator

Hello! One of the prevalent issues in the forum is how to get map tiles to show up in the Android Emulator when developing your project. For the longest time I thought it just didn't work because I had almost zero luck with it. Well, today I sat down, got it working twice in a row, and made a video on how to do it. Hopefully this helps those of you still struggling with this feature. The tutorial is based on buzztouch v2, but should work equally well for v1.5. http://youtu.be/OGC9IuEMwBE As always, constructive feedback appreciated! Mark

Hey @nelaye, Google map API v1 still works but just depreciated. Check out this link to enter your MD5 fingerprint. Don't think there is a tutorial on version 2 yet. https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/android/v1/maps-api-signup LA

Does you device have a network connection? Did you sign the APK with the debug keystore, or the release one? If release, do you have the Google Maps API Key based on your release keystore? Do you have your device set to allow debugging? Mark

Hi Mark, 1. Yes 2. debug keystore. I use the same APK before I setup the Google Maps API Key. Do I need to get a new APK? 3. No, will look to find how to set my device for debugging.
