iOS 11 & buzztouch

Hi All It's been a very long time since I created my app and a lot has happened since. I understand that my app will not work with iOS 11 after the update so my question is now, what do I do to fix this problem? I also see that a lot of plugins has been removed and some of them is i used in my app, so how does that affect my app? Hope that somebody can guide me a little bit. Kim

What seems to be going on is that the 'base' level of iOS compatibility is iOS 8. Granted, if you compile for iOS 10 or 11, things won't work. But if you compile for iOS 8, despite the 'warnings' you'll get, it should compile ok, and it should work just fine. We *will* need another update, and soon. But 'at the moment' we're still good with iOS. Hopefully another update will be released before the sunset of iOS 8 code. Cheers! -- Smug

I just compiled a project in iOS 10.3 and again in iOS 11 using XCode 9 Beta. What problems are you having? Is it with particular plugins?

I Tried to compile with the version i uploaded but nothing happens. I used AT53 video plugin and a menu with image plugin but not sure if these will be included? So is it possible to have a version iOS 11 ready or will the app die?

This thread about AT 53 video plugin remidned me that it's author pulle it from the market - don't know why, but it was over a year ago & before BT4 was realeased. http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=0D9D0C861D729C67AAD8C74

Thanks AlanMac. I'll try that fix but man it's a long time since I've been working with this, so I guess I have many hours ahead of me.

I suggest you make sure your app does not use other plugins that are no longer available in the maket. The two plugins you have mentioned above are I believe fixable only have a few lines of code. If you decide to switch your menu as Chris suggests, that should help reduce coding too. For sure when you stop looking at this stuff for a long time there is a re-learning curve. Good luck, Alan

Hey All, Hope it's okay to piggyback off this comment - topic seems to be the same. I build my app back in late 2012 and haven't had to recompile since uploading to the app store...until now. We are getting the message that the app will no longer work once users update to iOS 11, which we expect they are doing pretty promptly. I'm using a bunch of Custom URL screens, Menu Simple, Splash Screen, and some PDF Doc's. I assumed I would just need to export it again and recompile for 64-bit devices. I've exported and have it open in Xcode Version 8.2.1 but i'm getting 119 warnings about deprecations and i can't seem to get it to function in the simulator. I'm just getting a black screen. The app actively functions on my iPhone 7+ with iOS 10.3.3, but i do get warnings that it may cause slowness and won't work with iOS 11. The simulator i'm using is iPhone 7 Plus (10.1). What can I do to get this cleaned up, working and resubmitted quickly?
