Apps for Smart watches?

Hey guys, After watching the keynote on the apple watch and seeing that the interactions in both directions from phone to watch and visa versa, clearly there is more interaction than just notifications like on the pebble. Also the way that some of the apps are setup on the phone. Any thoughts on how we would make our apps accessible via the wearable? Or would we need to make a watch app that links to our app? Interested to hear your thoughts Kristen

I haven't had the chance to take in Apples new devices. But I have to assume that Apple will release some sort of software or update to Xcode to deliver a product to the smart watch platform. As long as I can build in alternative frameworks and still able to deliver to the smart watch, I'll be happy, but I know Apple will make it difficult for me in the process, lol. I think the smart watch will play more part in the health/medical industry personally. Well see!

Apple Watch will bring about loads of potential. However, we've yet to see what it will do... we have to wait until 2015! There will probably be an SDK which we, as devs, will have to develop for if we want an app on Apple Watch.

Well thats just it, I see more functionality than just reading your heart rate... Watch the key note and have a look at the interactions and menu options. Its not a dumb watch...

It's a game changer for sure. We don't have to wait to see what it will do, we know what it will do, anything we want and anything we can dream up! Think how the iPhone was when it first came out and what it can do now. I strongly believe Apple have just ushered in the next wave of tech that we've all been told is just around the corner. Pairing to Bluetooth headphones with no need for iPhone link for your music when running or cycling is a big one for me. As long as they don't screw up notifications and allow devs to make it a spam machine on your wrist. I'm excited, have always worn a watch and the pennies are now waiting for launch. Far from dumb and only just the beginning.
