The work you detailed would be necessary to show marker pins on the map. The error you're getting, is about not getting the map plugin to go in the first place. Got to have the map plugin running in order to have marker pins on the map! I have seen this error on my end, if my config.txt file was not correct. The screen-cap is from the Simulator/Emulator that I use. I'm told: It NEVER does maps. And, never has on mine. You need to get the .apk on your device.

I bought a Visual Land Android 4.1 device for $75USD. I bought a tablet, since I didn't want another "phone". And I wanted a bigger screen. I know it all adds up: $80 BT, $99 Apple Developer, $25 Google Play, iOS device (I have both iPhone 5S $700, and iPad $360), Android device $75. Curry's Blackpool lists three Android 4.1 and 4.2, 7-inch tablets for £99GBP. (In the US we have 8% sales tax, you have 20% VAT). ARCHOS 97 Cobalt 9.7" Tablet - 8 GB LENOVO S5000 7" Tablet - 16 GB GIGASET QV830 8" Tablet - Black Tesco Blackpool simple search also had an ARCHOS Tablet for £99GBP (£109 -£10). Having been a tourist in UK, I only know of those two stores, since Jessops closed. Unsure about H&M - or if you can get Android tablets at O2 or the other mobile phone stores, since tablets aren't "phones" per se. I know there's a lot of used stores, but you need 4.1 or better for testing.
