I think there are others a bit more thorough, but I'm happy with the info I get from App Annie. Well, if you're looking to keep track of 'where' users are, you can get that out of your control panel... look for the 'usage map' and periodically download the csv file... it'll contain coordinates of 'where' the users are while using your app. You can reverse geocode the results for cities and stuff... If yours isn't working with self hosted, you have to add the Google API key. I just recently discovered that a few months ago, I thought it was just a bug that it wasn't working, but it wasn't. App Annie is the primary way I monitor my app sales... they send me a daily email report, and breaks down all kinds of stats. Location is about the only one that it doesn't cover.
