New Plugin: Ultimate Android Creator

Happy 4th! The Ultimate Screen Creator comes to Android! - introducing a complete drag 'n drop solution for creating screens on the fly! With this plugin, creating screens for your app has never been easier. Simply add elements onto the screen using the state-of-the-art control panel and drag them into place. With thousands of lines of custom code, this plugin will revolutionize how you setup your app. Simply add elements to the screen right on the control panel. Then, drag them around, resize them, change their properties, add or subtract. You can even layer elements, overlapping one with another. Elements that can be added include: -Label -Button -Image -Text Field -Slider (limited support) -Switch -Table -Text View -Web View -Map -Video Each element comes with it's own set of properties to adjust. Buttons are special in that an action can be assigned to them. Possible actions include: -Load Screen --> loads the specified plugin screen -Save to Device --> Saves all the data to the device (so it can be auto-loaded the next time the screen is launched, or so other plugins can use the data) -Send to URL --> Sends all the data to the specified URL (e.g., a custom php script) -Send and Save --> Saves the data and then sends it to the specified URL

by not putting it together with Ultimate Screen Creator will this mean that we need to make 2 times the app? if I want to do it for android and iOS?

You can either make 2 apps - one for android and one for iOS, or one app with a menu that can distinguish between the two (such as my Menu Image Advanced plugin). I've found it's generally better to have two apps on the control panel for the two platforms though.

I actually tend to agree with you about the the 2 separate apps, (more work but less problems and more organized) but i do have the app name issue, i cannot have 2 apps with the same name.

Yes, the name can be a slight problem. Although, it's easily changeable once you download your project. In Xcode, it's located in the BT_info.plist file in the BT_Config directory. In Eclipse, it's in the res/layout/strings.xml file.

I always make one Buzztouch project to drive both my Android and iOS apps. With some planning, you can avoid dual maintenance. Also, you really can't tell a customer that they have to do dual maintenance. If there are plugins that are available in only one or the other, then use the Menu Image Advanced to handle that scenario.

Why can't you tell a client they need to manage both? They're getting two apps, one for iOS and one for Android.

I suppose you could, but with some planning it is easy to make the same project work for both. I really haven't had trouble with this approach. The only thing is that I am looking for plugins that work on both iOS and Android. The apps I work on have hundreds of screens, so dual maintenance would be a real chore and there is a risk that the content could be wrong on one of the two. The beauty of using Buzztouch for your apps is that you can have one project drive both apps.

Ah, yeah, I can see how if you have hundreds of screens, it would be a pain.
