Due to what appeared to be an unresolving loop problem with Android I deleted everything and reloaded yesterday. Of course this meant reloading the emulator. I have created a new one and it is linked to the same number API as the app I am trying to run and everything appears normal except the emulator won't unlock. I have tried the home key and the menu key and the refresh key but it's just not responding. Android has to be one of the most frustrating programs in the universe.

Sorry I can't help but I do thing it's worth investing the time in installing Genymotion as alternative emulator. I think it works much better.

Thanks Kingelessar but I couldn't download the virtual box for some reason so Genymotion would not run. Nice idea though and for a few moments there I thought I was home and dry.

The red line that is showing when I try to use the emulator is:- HAX is not working and emulator runs in emulation mode But I had added the 4 files in the extras in the SDK.

Thanks CM. I have spent many hours on google and still can't get the emulator to work. I have managed to get the HAX working but the emulator still won't run even though everything now seems to be in order (or rather in more order than when it was working fine the other day without all the changes I have made today). The message comes up 'waiting for "home"' but it just won't start.

I'm on OSX Mavericks with Ganymotion, and it did install OK. It does a reasonable job, except with - again - Location Map, which it won't run.

I am about to the point that I could entertain a couple of offers to test my App (Android and iOS). There's a couple of bugs (Self Hosted 3.0) that I would like to work through: 1) In Android, the Menu rows are clear, not solid. And Blue on return. 2) In iOS, the Location Map pulsating blue dot is black, not blue!! Apple has had a pulsating BLUE dot for 7 years of iPhones, so I need to get that dot BLUE. Then I would like to think of a couple of PlugIns that I would like to add, and HOW to add them as menu items o the callout bubble on Location Map...

oh yeah on simulators I think you have to set the location on an android simulator.Ive always used real devices though. Im not sure about the menus.which menu? I havent really used the map plugin for iOS or android but I know on my spot finder plugin the pulsating dot is blue. Not sure about that one. Ill look at the code because Im going to use it soon. Im sure its going to be updated again though also before the "new" bt comes out

Hey ive noticed the simulator crashes because of google play services but dont know why yet.I think smug mentioned some changes with the library.the same app worked fine on my device though

I find it necessary to clear the cache of Genymotion. The close the player, then in the main Genymotion > Settings > Misc > Clear Cache. Then click Play and open a new player.
