This is great is there a way to create a plug in like this for videos. adding text or editing the video somehow?

It would be pretty complex... Video editing is a different animal... You'd have to have some code that decompressed the videos, pulled out and referenced each frame, apply the desired edits to the frames (or frame segments), then put it all back together (I think)... Similar to iMovie. Much more complex than putting together a couple of image layers and text overlays like this plugin. I know it's possible, because there are apps that do it, but way over my head as far as the coding goes. That would be a sweet addition to the plugin market though if anyone knows how to do it.
