Origins of Swift -- Apple's new language

By Summer of 2010, Chris Lattner began working on a new programming language that summer, and a year later was joined by "a few other (amazing) people." By July 2013, Lattner noted that the new Swift project had become "major focus for the Apple Developer Tools group." It remained a secret to the public for the next year. The Swift language and Xcode 6 improvements were shown at Monday's keynote session for WWDC 2014. http://appleinsider.com/articles/14/06/04/apples-top-secret-swift-language-grew-from-work-to-sustain-objective-c-which-it-now-aims-to-replace -- Niraj

Chris Lattner, the creator of the new Swift language had the privilege of showing the WWDC-14 audience the first public look at it and at the Xcode 6 improvements. Chris Lattner's homepage: http://nondot.org/sabre/ -- Niraj
