Calling advanced developers...

Guys/Gals, I am in the middle of creating a little fun app that would really benefit from mic detection, activating a sound file - upon blowing into the mic. Does anyone have any good code that would do this please? Many thanks.

I did a blow tutorial lol a while back don't think it was that one, but when you blow in the mic it pushed the next screen in teh slide up transition so it looked like you were blowing the screen away. It was a bit hit and miss though

Thanks Smug, seen that. The issue I have is converting the recognition into playing an audio file. All tutorials I can find only relate to animation, such as mentioned by Kittsy, cant find any references to playing an audio file.

Well.... whatever triggers the animation can trigger an audio file... Cheers! -- Smug

Yes, just not sure how to code it!

Remember how the BT project contains an audio file? Search in the project files for the name of that audio file. It might be obvious then on how to play the audio file. -- Niraj

I know how to play audio files @niraj - however integrating with the gesture code is no so straight forward.

And of course, this thread got me thinking, wouldn't it be cool to have a 'Siri' driven app...? And of course how to do it. Theoretically, with iOS8 we'll have more toys to play with. At the moment, there is no developer access to Siri. But there is this: http://www.politepix.com/openears/ which I thought was rather interesting... and free. Cheers! -- Smug

If you have Chris1's Menu Advanced plugin, look into how he recognizes a tap on the header image and causes that to display the next screen. -- Niraj

Niraj, I can happily move from view to view in code, with differing transitions. I'm specifically after the gesture of blowing into the mic triggering an mp3 file. Thanks.
