R cannot be resolved to a variable - Layout XML files with errors

Have 250 Errors just importing it into Eclipse. I have referenced the appropriate google play services lib folder and am having the issue R cannot resolve. After about 12 hours searching through stackoverflow I think it may be tied to having 2x layout xml files with errors. I did not edit the source code after downloading it from BT just imported it straight away. Eclipse is set to API 14 android 4.0 and also java encoding is at 1.6.
