App submission

Hi I'm now finished with my app (took me nearly a year) and I'm ready to submit it. I do have some difficulties understanding the procedure. When I assigned to the developer program I did this with my personal Apple ID. I now wan't my company to recieve the income of the app and be the representative of the app. I can't find anywhere to input these informations. And btw do I need a US tax ID? If anybody have a link or can point me in the right direction I'll appreciate it. This forum has been a very big help for me, and I thank everyone in here.

If your company has an account, and you have an account, you can transfer your app from one account to the other. My app was a free app, so things were much easier. If revenue is involved, you have to ensure all the bank info and such is prepared before you make the transfer. If your company 'needs' an account, then you'll need business documents (LLC or Corporation Certificates) an EIN (tax ID) and a DUNS number. The EIN and DUNS numbers are free, your corp documents you get from the region you register your business in… In 'iTunes Connect' of the current app owner, go to your app management page, and there should be a 'transfer app' button in the upper right corner with a few others… Cheers! -- Smug

My problem is that I think I did a stupid thing, and applied for the developer account on my personal ID and paid it through the company. So if I need to apply for a company account I guess I need to pay the 100$ again?

When I got my company account, they gave me the option to 'transfer' the remaining months of my personal account to my business account instead of dropping another $100. I declined however, because of the stuff I went through to get the business account. If it didn't work I still wanted 'something' I could use. But I'm not sure if that's normal or if they were making a special case for me because Apple/DUNS put me through hell for 6 months trying to prove I was part of the USA despite the Regional DUNS folks being in Australia. But I digress... So 'maybe not; call and ask' if possible. The developer guys are pretty easy to work with. Its the folks that hide behind an anonymous email address that I have a problem with, lol! Cheers! -- Smug

Had similar "problems" and Apple handled it all without me having to pay double, so just talk to them and all will be good. DUNS number took ages though, so calculate some time for that if you are like me not from the US.

Thank you for your answers. I'll try writing apple. So I'll guess I can apply for the duns when I get the account?

duns is not given by apple, so do that now already if your company is set up properly. Without duns, no apple company profile.

I just went through changing my account over from a personal to a business. It takes about 14 days to get thought it all but it's not that hard. Call and get someone on the phone and get them to walk you through it!

I have now received my DUNS number. Next step is to write apple to convert my account. LeonG. Did you apply for a us tax id? If so how's the process. I'm from Denmark and we have a law which states that we only have to pay tax in Denmark, so I'm confused why I need a US tax ID.

So I tried to contact apple via the contact form on the developer center a week ago, but haven't heard anything. So my question is, would it be easier just to pay the 100$ and create a new developer profile? If so, I read what Smug wrote earlier, but since the app hasn't been uploaded yet, is there an app to transfer. And I guess there isn't any EIN documents in my case?

If you can't wait just do it yes, just risking the 100 Dollars even though I think Apple would always refund in this case.
