I just uploaded an updated version of the Menu with Image plugin. It has a couple of new features. You can now set the opacity of the header image, which can give your app an iOS7 look. (I included an example in the screenshots for the plugin.) You set the opacity (or alpha) using a decimal point. For example, a setting of 0.5 equates to 50% opacity. I also added the ability to set a background color behind the header image. You may want to set up a color that blends with your header image so when you rotate the device you have a better cosmetic effect. Setting a background color for your header image also helps with Android app design, where the various devices interpret the sizes a slightly differently. There are also a couple of minor bug fixes in the update. I hope you like these changes. Thank you for your support!

I find going to "full screen" with the background image works in my case but on ipad also the header image doesn't go all the way.

You have to make the header image as wide as your preferred iPad orientation. Perhaps make sure the app is locked to Portrait mode. Then you only have to adjust for two sizes: iPhone and iPad.

It is designed to display the header Image at full width in portrait. On landscape, it appears in the middle top. It is fairly easy to adjust how the image is handled in code. The header image code is near the top of the .m file.

Thanks guys but I'm talking about Portrait not Landscape. See http://www... There is now a small gap! Having said that, I might switch back to this plugin for android (transparent header), because no one has been able to tell me how to prevent the header image from distorting in the "menu image advanced" plugin and with yours it doesn't happen. And the row descriptions look much better now.
