Is It Possible to Copy Apps From One Self Hosting to Another?

Hi Simple question, is it possible to copy an app on one self hosting platform to another self hosting platform.? I have two self hosting accounts for various reasons but I need to copy some apps from one to the other. Can it be done? Any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated. Dragon

This isn't my area, but I remember there are some posts from a short while back about backing up and restoring, it's all about the database. If you don't need the contents of the target account, it might be easier. Alan

Hi Thanks for the feedback Alan. Yeah, the other account is empty, but I have tried install a copy of the database but I get an error, even though the apps appear in the CP. Also none of the screens show for the apps and the plugin refresh button won't work either. So at this stage totally lost.

I currently get this error message after coping my database and installed to the second server: An error ocurred in the fnDbGetResult() method in utilityFunctions.php (4) And now I cannot get any screens to show from the apps in the control panel. One step forward, three back. Anyone know what this error is and how to fix?

Did you check out Smugwimps instructions in the links - any help? Also, just had a thought. If you did a complete backup of your old setup and restore to your new, did you then go through the update process to get all the right credentials in for your second setup to make it distinct from the first? If you are really stuck, PSMDanny is the BT guy that looks after installations, you could reach out to him?

Thanks Alan, will go through the process again. Never had any issues from the two previous upgrades but the BT 3.0 is just giving me headache.

Contact Chris1, he has a tool that can do the job. It might be re-available on http://btmods.com
