A Faster Emulator?

It's a known fact that an actual hardware 'device' is far better than an emulator, regardless of platform. But even if you have 'an' android device, you still need to test it on all kinds of other devices that we don't own, thus we use an Android Virtual Device, aka 'an Emulator'. Notoriously slow. I found this in class and thought it was worth a share: http://software.intel.com/en-us/android/articles/speeding-up-the-android-emulator-on-intel-architecture Hope it helps someone. Cheers! -- Smug

Yow! I haven't tried it yet, but this looks really good. It looks like it will work on Windows, Linux, and OS X, and Intel says it can speed up the performance of the emulator by an order of magnitude. Thanks, Smug!

I was at an Intel codefest in Milan just recently and they talked about this. They ran a normal emulator in parallel with an intel one (the x86) and it ran in 5 seconds versus 50 seconds for the usual one... impressive! Here’s a YouTube clip which shows you how to install an Intel emulator http://software.intel.com/en-us/videos/intel-android-tool-series-deploying-to-an-intel-emulator

@Dervalo, thanks for the video link works like a charm, although my computer is fast already, this will be very helpful for those having slow emulator runs.
