Happy Tuesday, I'm working on a App Video Promo for a presentation Niraj may be giving tonight at an iOS meetup showcase in Irvine (representing Buzztouch of course). It will be our beta of the Super Bowl App we introduced at Buzzday San Diego a few weeks ago. We should be submitting it very soon now. Just putting the final touches and we hope to get some good feedback tonight off the live version on our phones. I've rendered two videos, a short 50 second and an extended 1:20 second one. The short version displays the main screens. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_msW_kECfN0&hd=1 The long version displays the main screens + the extended screens. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qAUhWNhH0I&hd=1 I used programs like Reflector to mirror my actions from my iPhone 4S so that I can record it as a video clip. My question is what other method can I use to capture live app gestures but record it in iPhone 5 4" screen mode, if all I have is the iphone 4 3.5" screen. This way, rather then having the extended version, I can input the recorded video into the iPhone screens in the short version segments. For instance the tumblr movement (chris1's plugin) in our Halftime Screen or the carousel movement (kitsy's plugin) in our Anthems Screen. It would give a better dynamic to the presentation rather then just a static screen image. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks Ed

Use the device simulator on xcode and norm al screen capture software only capture the screen not the device bouandaries. Use after effects or whatever video tool, find a good quality picture of na iphone 5 at least 1080p, then overlay the phone screen with the video/ screen capture from the simulator. Done

Niraj has it built in xcode5 on his machine locally kits, I made the videos in After Effects using all the individual screens then did the final composite in premiere with the audio track, I can fake transitions using the master screen shots for iphone 5 but it would be nice if i can swipe the carousel live and see all the images go by.

I think the answer is no then, when mirroring it will only mirror pixel for pixel, I think though there is an option in reflector top chanmge teh dfault size but will probably look stretched and stutter

thanks andy tried that first it only mirrors the device resolution, I believe Niraj is using MrDavids device detection he compiled with image assets for both 3.5 and 4 inch screens. I'll keep looking, appreciate it.

I say, "Just gonna have to upsize your iPhone to a 5-format". That is the easiest method, but it is an expense. Craigslist to the rescue! You can always go make nice with your neighbors and ask them "can I borrow a cup of sugar ... Errr, I mean your bling-bling iPhone 5S". :-) Back on track to your question ... Thinking .... Mulling ... I will get back to you.

Maybe you can do it with an iPod Touch? It's the same size as an iPhone 5. Of course, it all depends on time available, I suppose... Cheers! -- Smug

Apple will give you a gift card for trading in you phone. So it can be quite inexpensive to upgrade, although you get locked in two more years.

You get the gift card and you can use it to pay for your phone. At least that was the deal about two weeks ago when we upgraded my husband's phone.
