Hi, Is it better to upload html docs to BT and reference them, or to create custom html/text screens and reference them instead? I feel that having actual uploaded html docs that I create elsewhere might be better - but is it sensible? Slowly treading through the mud to the drier ground... cheers Al

I always make my HTML files in dreaweaver, ref them and drag into my project. They are such lightweight files the amount I use don't really bloat the project files. I usually have a few hosted and reference them so I can update screens on the fly.

Personally, I don't love the on-line editor and it can be funny with more complex html. But it is quick and easy compared to uploading html files. The best solution for you will end up being one of preference rather than technical. Oddly enough, the files that you create in custom html/text screens end up as html on the internet that your app links to. You can actually reference them as URL's on the internet from a browser - I believe you can find the link in the json for the file. The other thing to consider is that there is option to copy your html files into the BT_Docs folder of your project - that's worth thinking about if you want your pages to be available off-line.

Yip. I always do the docs folder except for a couple of 'live' pages.

Always drag them in to the project unless there are php files involved then I upload it to a server and use custom url.

I am staying away from the on-line editor plugin, it only caused me grief. Dragging the files is the best way to keep a good control of things. Good luck! Farcat

Great - I am just starting out with very basic coding and see that my current html page (that I want to use as a template and repeat many times in my app) is full of spans ... Reminds me of Monty Python's Spam Spam Spam Spam... I gather that a good way to proceed would be to use CSS and have a style sheet in the uploaded Docs folder. I have no idea how that should look, though I am aware of them a bit through making kindle epubs with Sigil. Are there any CSS examples of basic stylesheets for single page/screen html docs? Have googled the BT site and got html doc samples but some are a few years out of date... TBH I nearly gave up yesterday with BT. Ups and Downs and all that. More positive today. Al

There is a nice, simple free html editor you can use that you might find useful for generating your html files offline. Google for Kompozer or download from www.kompozer.net
