New to developing need a mentor or a coach

Hello buddies, I am new to android development. I know some bits of codes to get out of trouble, but I need a coach or a mentor. Someone I can look up to. I am not a talent in coding or anything special but I guess you don't have to be. I just want someone to learn from. I am college student and I am very happy to have found this website. I would be very happy to be a follower of someone. I am very very passionate

Welcome to Buzztouch! I'm not the kind of person that anyone should be looking up to. My bad qualities far outweigh any good that could possibly come, lol! That said, although I'm not 'mentor' material, if you have a question, ask it on the forums. You'll get about 100 mentors in a short amount of time. If you're working with Android, there's a few pretty sharp cookies floating around in these forums. So the resources are there. What it comes down to is, are you willing to learn? Our premiere tutorials come from GoNorthWest, a Buzztouch user like yourself a few years ago. Mark had to go through a learning curve, and subsequently spends a lot of time creating tutorial Videos and Documents to help new users get through the first few weeks of 'what is going on here'. You can introductory videos and more advanced topics as well, at his Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/GoNorthWest The 'Buzztouch University' videos are a great introduction to how Buzztouch works, and how to put together a simple application: https://www.buzztouch.com/account/btu.php There's almost always a 'new user webinar' coming up, which is a great place to meet other new BT users, ask questions, and just find out how things work: https://www.buzztouch.com/account/events.php And above all, ask a 'question'. If you post a topic that says 'it dont work, what do I do?' we really don't have an idea about 'what' your having a problem with. It could be anything from your power plug to your internet provider. It may have something to do with BT, it may not. ;) The thing to do would be to say "I'm working on my first app, and I can't figure out how to get my icon to upload". You know… something with a little detail so we can help. People love to help, but you have to make it easy for us to understand your situation. Don't worry about being new; we were all new. No one knows everything. Part of the beauty of Buzztouch is the fact that, some folks can't code a line. But their graphic skills are amazing. Some folks code great in iOS, but are horrible in Android. And all kinds of different backgrounds. I'm a idea man. But getting my ideas to work takes a lot of effort on my part, and a lot of help from my Buzztouch friends :) Just relax, take it easy, breathe smooth, and click around… get used to the place. Notice the way things are laid out… make yourself at home :) Check out a few of the University Videos, and a couple of Go NorthWest's videos on how to setup your environment (he's ambidextrous; he does both Mac and Windows!). If you have questions, you know where the forums are, and you no longer need an invitation; you're in the club ;) Cheers! -- Smug
