Can I update to Xcode 5?

Hi guys, I need to run an app from Xcode on my phone (which is running iOS 7) but in order to do that I need to install Xcode 5.0. The current version won't let me do it without the most up-to-date SDK. The only problem with that is I'm worried my projects won't work anymore. Does anyone know anything about this or any way around it? Thanks! Samantha

Hi Sam, You can run both side by side. You can download Xcode 5 from the App Store, then download Xcode 4.6.3 from the Developer portal at developer.apple.com. Does this help? Jake

FYI: You can download Xcode 4.6.3 at this link https://developer.apple.com/downloads/index.action Just search for "xcode 4.6.3" (without quotes).

I'd use Xcode 5 due to the iOS 7 compatibility. David (the Book one) will be shortly releasing the iOS core to fully support the new Xcode 5. In the meantime, do as the others say and also install the older version.

I was going to update our Xcode until I read the first 2 pages of reviews for the latest release of 5.0.1 on the store. Some scary stuff. David https://buzztouchmods.com/market

So do we need mavericks for 5.0 or would OSX 10.8.5 be OK? David https://buzztouchmods.com/market

Niraj is correct. The minimum required is Mountain Lion, but it also works in Mavericks too. All you need is 10.8.4 or later.
