Me on TED TALKS?

Hi guys, Recently, I saw this litte app developer at the age of 12 who made an app. Here's the link to that thread a few days ago: http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=02A71460B0090219772A81F&sortColumn=FT.id&sortUpDown=DESC&currentPage=1 So further down the page, someone recommended I should go on TED. I did a bit of research on this, and found a few TEDxEvents in London which are looking for speakers. Why not let that be me? Well, there are a few reasons why I'm holding back. I am just boring on stage, and I would be so nervous (and partly excited) to speak there. So the decision is up to you. Do you want this 14 year old buzztouch member to be part of the TED Talks? There are a few events scheduled for next year that I could think about speaking at. So if you want me to be a speaker and talk about apps (and if I have enough time, I would talk about Buzztouch), so just answer the poll: http://form.jotformeu.com/form/33076826103349? If I gather enough support, I'll pluck up the courage and go ahead and talk for 18 minutes.

Awesome Thomas! You should do it, I think you'll be great. You have tons of passion for it and the nervousness will go away :) Good luck

Do it. Taking the leap to be a speaker will be something you don't want to miss out on and the potential for good (inspiring others, becoming a confident speaker, getting know as a developer) is an opportunity to good to miss! We will cheer you on! Go rock TED talks!

I just answered your poll… I said 'yes, you should go'. I keep writing and changing my paragraph. The summary of it would have been "I have never had a better skill than to be able to appear calm and informed while speaking in front of a large group of people". While you can, and while it's easier, work on your public speaking skills. Cheers! -- Smug

It's a great idea. Absolutely, go for it. What do you think you'd like to talk about?

This is the chance of a lifetime. Eighteen minutes will FLY by! I do a tech talk at a conference for 40 minutes, and I always run out of time! If you want help putting together a presentation, just let me know. Mark

Thomas, what are you waiting for, this is a calling. Plus you need to start somewhere, so why not start at the top. We all have your back.

Astonishingly, I've received 28 responses, all saying I should go ahead and do it. I'll see what I can do. I'll try to pick somewhere in London. It'll probably be in 2014. I am aware that there's one popping up in Oxford soon, but that's for the university, and all university talks must be educational.

Thomas, if you are able to do this in London, let me know, so I can come a long to support you.
