CircleView on Android

I have an app which uses the circleview plugin. It works fine on apple, but with my Android version of the same app, I am not having much luck. I just upgraded to 2.1.9 which gives two flavours of android project, the old and the new 3.0 approach. With the 'old' android style of project, the project fails to compile, with an error on the circleview plugin. With the 3.0 Android version of the project, the app compiles and starts. I see the circleview menu displayed; it is more like menu with image, which is OK. But when I navigate, the app crashes with what sems to be an out of memory error. Before I added circleview, I had an earlier version working on Android when I was on 2.1.8 which was OK.

Hey AlanMac, The android version for this plugin is basically a simple menu. I added some Android functionally to it so people could use the same control panel for the both versions. That is why it says it only has limited Android support in the description. the error in the old version is that the app delegate is named wrong. Change test3 to what ever you app delegate name is and it will work just fine. As far as the 3.0 version, I have not yet complied one with it. I will take a look. Jim

Hi Jim I'm happy enough with the simple presentation on Android if I can keep one project for both Android and IOS. I do like the effect on IOS. I'll experiment on Android 3 crashes a bit more - I am not sure at this point if the problem is me - I'll remove circleview from that to see what is what. The 'old' android build shows a different problem to what you have described - on line 521 "wb_menu_row cannot be resolved or is not a field"

That error has to do with the code from the menu with image plugin. (with Susan's permission) I used some of her base code to add the functionally to android project. I don't have eclipse loaded up on the machine I am currently working on, so I will try to take a look tonight. David updated all the plugins for 3.0 so maybe he modified the code a bit. I have not went line by line through it since the update. I will look though.

Cheers Jim It is entirely possible that my 3.0 crashes are nothing to do with circleview, but I think the plugin version as used in 'compatibility mode' for old Android may be an issue. I know my way around the older 2.1.8 Android control panel, but I am still trying to get my head around all the Android changes that came with 3.0. Alan
