blank screen with new app

Just tried a very simple new app to test Mavericks, new XCode, latest ios 7.0.3 etc. Made a simple app with home screen called "home" which opens to a simple menu, with one row which when tapped opens to a menu with images which also has just one item which when tapped opens a html file. Compiled it, ran it in xcode without errors but just get a white blank screen on the iphone retina screen simulator. Well not totally blank, the carrier, time and battery icons are there on top but nothing else. Is this due to all the new stuff and I should wait or is there something anyone can think that I didn't do? Thanks. Steve

You added the plugins to the project, in accordance with the 'installation.pdf' file that accompanied the package download zip file? Cheers! -- Smug

Smug - A new problem has arisen. As I posted, after adding the plugins, all worked well. Then I tried to add a send sms item to a menu and though the menu item showed up when I pressed it I got the message that the device can't send messages. Since I'm on the simulator, I figured that's the reason. Then I added another menu item to send an email. When I pressed it, I got the blank screen again and now, no matter what I do, clean the app, close and restart Xcode, when the app starts, all I get is the blank screen again. I deleted the two menu items (sms and email), but no luck. Do I have to recompile? Thanks. Steve

Smug, This has to go under those "who knows" things. I recompiled and still had the blank screen problem. Recompiled 3 more times, without changing a thing, and voila, it now works. Crazy. Steve

The important thing is you're working again. Next time though, try deleting the 'app' from the simulator as well when you 'clean' your project. Sometimes the cache gets a little confused. Cheers! -- Smug

Smug, I completely quit the simulator when I try a do-over. Is there a different way to delete the app from the simulator? Steve

Basically 2 ways (both with the simulator running) 1) Just like on the iPhone, 'click and hold' on your app icon. When they start shaking, click on the 'x' to delete the app. A Confirmation dialog will appear. 2) In the iOS Simulator, choose 'Reset Content and Settings...' from the file menu.'' Cheers! -- Smug
