Libs folder not included in APK file

When I create my APK file, the Libs folder (which contains a StartApp .jar file) is not included within the APK file. I searched a few other forums and tried: Right click on Project > Build Path > Configure Build Path > Java Build Path > Order & Export tab > tick the relevant .jar file ... but still no joy in including the .jar file (or libs folder) in the APK file. Any ideas?

The libs folder should be there for sure. Are you importing the library you're trying to use and linking it to your project? Similar to the way we have to link the Google Play Services jar file in the new BT Android v3 code? Mark

Hi Mark I have imported a single file (the Startapp .jar file - which I have downloaded from Startapp) to the libs folder in Eclipse and the Workspace folder.

I have tried this Mark, but no joy. I have removed and added the file again, but it still isn't included in the APK file. Linked from the page you provided above was this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9820675/gson-noclassdeffounderror-after-adt-and-sdk-tools-update-to-v17 which is a similar problem, but I still can't find a solution.

Sorry Mark, that was a continuation of my previous post. "But I still can't find a solution ... which works for my project".

Problem solved after trying about 20 different stackflow forum suggestions. I created a new class folder called 'libs2', added the .jar file to this and built a path to it. I made sure the libs2 folder was checked in the 'Order and Export' tab. I have no idea why the .jar file wasn't being picked up in either the 'libs' or 'Android Private Libraries' folder. But hey, there is a lot I don't know.

I forgot to say Mark, that your key signing tutorial was essential. Thanks again.
