help with galaxy phone

ive given up on the simulator, as nothing works, so i decided to use real phone instead, i used a galaxy s5360, which was running android 2, plugged it in to eclipse, tried to run it, told me it needed min api 11, and the device is api 10, so i rooted the device, upgraded it to jellybean 4.1.1 ap16 works great on phone, plugged it in, but eclipse is still saying, its api 10, it shows the device and the target as 4.1.1 but has red x next the target 4.1.1 and wont run, saying its only api 10 what am i doing wrong sean

Try a restart of Eclipse. That clears up some weird problems sometimes. Tim

Try to reset the adb, unplug the device and reattach it. The 'Reset adb' option is in the drop-down menu of the 'Devices' windows. Tim

Depends on which Eclipse version you use. On Helios go to Window --> Show View --> Devices

The Eclipse version you're using is probably fine. It's possible it has stored some profile information for the device you connect, that's what I was trying to get Eclipse to refresh. When you plug in the device there will be a window that shows it's connected, it's details, a button to capture a screenshot from it, etc. That's what you are looking for, then an option to reset the adb. If that doesn't work then I'm not sure.

no don't think its that, as i redid everything on the mac from scratch, after the PC couldn't do it, i think its something to do with the firmware on the phone, cos its an old phone that's been rooted, i don't think the firmware can update, that's why eclipse see,s that its jellybean, but that its only API 10, Ive given up on using eclipse, Ive downloaded 5 versions, and cant even get my app started, just keeps crashing after loading, Ive gone over to app inventor for Google for now, till i have time to figure it out, been trying for about 70 hours now lol thanks for your help sean
