changing plugins

Is it possible to change an existing menu created as a "simple menu" to "menu with image"? I purchased the plugin and would like to add an image to my existing menu page. Thanks in advance for any advice/assistance. -Manny

If its the menu you created as your main homescreen then simply recreate the menu with the image and set as your homescreen in "layout". If its a sub menu then do same but recreate any links to it from other screens. Then just redownload code and update app in store. Any existing app users will get message in app to update once you click "publish".

Mr. Stuck is on the money; because it will entail additional code being placed in the app, you'll need to recompile/resubmit your app for the new menus to be available to the users. Just like he says; go ahead and add the new menu to your project, recreating all of the choices and any additional enhancements that go with the new plugin. Re-release, and 'then' publish. If you publish before the new version is available, users will experience errors due to the new plugin NOT being in the old package. This would be considered a biggie. Don't forget. Cheers! -- Smug

What if you have over 200 sub links and you don't want to have to recreate all the links again, can changing the plugin still be done?

It can. But rather than re-enter the sub links, I'd advise learning about external childItem files. https://www.buzztouch.com/docs/v1.5/childItems.php What you would want to do, is to get a copy of your BT_config.txt file, with all of the 'original' childItems, and cut/paste those into a separate childItem file that you store on a server somewhere. That URL would be the value for the 'dataURL' field in your new Menu Screen. Cheers! -- Smug
