Help with Published App

hi guys need some help, strange thing is happening to am app that's just been approved by apple, Ive got 3 apps on itunes, 2 of them work fine, 1 of them was designed for ios6 and then changed to io7 before submitting to itunes, but the latest one, is behaving really strange, its been designed for ios7, but originally for ios6, i never submitted the ios6, only the ios7, works great in xcode, and on device via xcode, no bugs, but when you download the app from itunes, after pressing the splash screen, it reverts to the old ios6 page, and the images it shows, arnt even in the binary in itunes, when you press refresh on the app, it go,s to an old splash screen, then gives you the new ios7 screen buttons, with missing images, ive included an image that better describes it, https://www.dropbox.com/s/dhbbk4p12lgkx3v/app.png its all very strange, as apple didn't come back with any errors cheers guys

I can't say 100%. But this can possibly be a result of one or more of the following: 1) Incorrect BT_Config.txt file in the compiled project, which is the first thing you'll see before it asks to refresh your config. 2) Missing images in the compiled project needed for the menu icons. 3) Wrong image with the right filename. I tend to suspect #1 and possibly #2... The absolute last step before publishing should be to update your BT_config.txt file (ensure it's in 'live' mode), clean your project, and create a final archive before release, and if at all possible, test it on a new device. Start cleaning your project a little more often. And delete it from the device simulator every once in a while; somethings things cache. Cheers! -- Smug

I agree with Smug. The BT_Config.txt would account for the old ios6 menu showing up after a download (before the first refresh or re-launch of the app). And I always try to either clean all devices and simulators before the final test to make sure there's nothing cached that isn't actually in the binary. OR I'll just open my project on another computer that has never run it before, just in case. A lot of times, I'll reuse some graphics from one project to another (especially tab icons), and for some reason, the simulator will cache these and if I need to re-download a new Xcode project, it'll find the icons in cache before I even copy them back into Xcode. Hope that helps. Hopefully you can get it working. Maybe use some image URLs for the missing ones until you can recompile and resubmit. -Chris

To get your config.txt, click on the menu link for Configuration Data in the app's control panel. Then make sure you select the "Live" config (as Smug suggested). Click in the box and select-all, copy. Then paste that in Xcode in place of the bt_config.txt file. As for clearing the cache from the simulator, you could either long-tap on the app icon fron the springboard and delete it like you would on a real device. Or you could go up in the simulator menu and select "reset" simulator. That will clear ALL apps and data off the simulator. (good to do that every now and then, anyhow). Hope that helps.

@strobe, for clearing the cache from the simulator, I see "Reset Content and Settings..." "Are you sure you want to reset the iOs Simulator Content and Setting?" is this what I should select?
