Self-hosted painfully slow - change hosting provider or BT settings?

Hey guys. I've been self-hosting with Hostmonster and lately it's been painfully slow when I go into an app and press "screens." Today I'm getting a lot of the following errors when I try to add screens resulting in duplicate entries when I press refresh: Service Unavailable. Technical description: 504 Gateway Time-out - The web server is not responding Is there something I can do to speed up the BT server or do I need to switch hosting providers? A week ago I removed the file/temp directory and cleared the bt_api_requests and there was no discernible change in performance, and my current SQL is only 12mb. If switching hosts is the answer any suggestions on one that's super fast and super easy to set up? Thanks everyone!

Lots of BuzzTouch people have good experience with HostGator.

I use HostGator. Good service, nice admin CP, all at a reasonable price. Many options available as well. Probably the best news if it's always been fast with no downtime for me since I've used it (about 2 years).

Also, be aware for their cheap plans, that HostGator opens the ports to communicate with Apple Push Notification Service. GoDaddy does not. They make you buy a more expensive VPS plan.

Having this same exact problem. Only happens when you go to the screens window. Also, only seems to happen to the bigger apps. I am on godaddy and have been for a couple years. Until recently I have never had this problem. Really hoping for some type of solution.
