Shopping Cart for takeaway

Hi guys, I,m after some advice on shopping carts, I have designed a couple of apps for butchers, I used PayPal for this, I designed an online page for each selling page and then linked the app to the page, this was only for 20 products, time consuming but it did what i wanted, Ive been asked to do a take away app, and he wants people to be able to order through his app, Ive looked at some shopping cart systems as doing it in PayPal isn't possible as you have to set up each button, I wouldn't mind doing this if you could save your work and use it for diff clients, but you cant in PayPal as you have to set each button within the clients PayPal account, my question is, is there any shopping cart systems out there that don't charge much for the initial setup, I have looked around at diff shopping carts, but they all seam to around £30 month and rising, any pointers would be much appreciated. cheers Sean

Sean, You could try Open Cart which is open source and includes various payment gateways: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=download/download

Thanks Batman, will keep that in mind for next one, decided to buy joomla takeaway module was only 99 euros all in, responsive, mobile friendly, all you do is input the menu items and connect it to paypal. cheers for the response. Sean

Sean, are you referring to Vik Restaurants joomla extension? I look forward to seeing how this looks in an app. The Caped Crusader

yes I am dude, I will let you know when its done, :) Sean Quick update Batman, Spent this week, getting my head around the vk restaurant and bon apetit template for joomla, got it all setup, Could probably do it in a day now, setting up all menu items and setting up paypal with it was doddle, there are lots of other merchants you can use as well, Implemented the takeaway part into an app this morning, and i can confirm, it works and runs great on the app, really, really fast. Cheers Sean

Thanks for update Sean. I think a lot of restaurant owners want their own branded app and not be locked in with the likes of justeat and hungryhouse. They are paying them £700 to sign up and 14% commission on each order. The Caped Crusader

And they take up to 3-4 weeks to settle accounts, £700 hundred quid to sign up, no wonder they stick with them when they have signed lol Opportunity Knocks :) Sean

Sean, I meant the restaurants have to pay £700 to justeat - but they do guarantee increased business: https://restaurants.just-eat.co.uk/benefits.html
