Granted, it does things a little differently, and so the approach needs to be modified a little, but for the most part, I'm starting to embrace Android Studio a little more each time I work with it. Android just seems to be a little less forgiving. But it's a great opportunity to expand our knowledge each time we work with it. I'm always discovering something I didn't know before. They 'should' be able to co-exist (although I haven't tried it) so perhaps you can try the new version while keeping a version you are comfortable with...? I thought they're faster than the old eclipse emulators, because they've moved to a different codebase. Are you on a Mac or a Windows box? Could be the JRE version?
