How make the display in Android similar to iOS

Hi all, I have my app display nicely on iOS app. But when running on Android, the font, text, all display ugly. It is the custom URL, so where should I change the setting to get the display better ? Now I am testing on Samsung Glaxy Ace (quite old model), so how to fix a nice display for all Android device. Second thing is: I have a home menu screen, in iOS it is a nice menu bar in the middle of a background screen image. Now, in my Samsung, the bar is full screen and display ugly and occupied the full screen. How to adjust it ?

It is hard to get a display that is optimal for both iOS devices and all Android device. My suggestion is to have two separate apps each for iOS and Android. Then you can tweak as much as you want and get it right on Android.

@ElDorado is right on the money - two apps makes it much easier to tweak the design. All my apps except for one are that way. The user interface on iOS and Android are just too different to make them look good from the same set of code. Bummer for sure, but that's what happens when you have competing operating systems! Yes, I have two separate sets now. So for my Android app, how do I set and adjust the display mentioned above ?

Having two separate apps does make it easy to optimise the look, but it also means more maintenance effort. If you are have an app where the content needs to be updated frequently, that can be a downside. Somebody once said if you design your apps for Android, it is easier to make them work for IOS as well. If you start your design for IOS only, the reverse is harder. Personally, I try to make my apps work for both Android and IOS. One of the tools that helps is @Chris1's advanced menu - you can use it link to pages that only work on android, or IOS if you need to. And if you use CSS in your html content, there are ways of displaying content that looks similar across Android and IOS as well. Just my 4penneth Alan

You can detect the type of browser and use conditional css to adjust styling. I use this to decide what fonts to use for small or big displays mostly. Check out these links, they should push you in the right direction. http://www.developerfusion.com/article/141514/working-with-mobile-devices-in-html5-and-css3/ http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12606245/detect-if-browser-is-running-on-an-android-or-ios-device
