A suggestion -- Add an icon to read more and see the Screenshots. You don't need to make another page just to hold the screenshots. The new icon will take us to the same page as the $xx button. The objective is to make it obvious on how to shop before buying. I was ready to walk away before tentatively clicking on the pay-money button. No need to hide the screenshots behind the $$ button, make it obvious that there is more to see and read. -- Niraj

Something to discuss and debate ... The WordPress ecosystem has the largest plugin market hosted at WordPress.org ... all for free. Premium (paid) plugins are available at each Developer's web site and through secondary marketplaces. Currently, the BTmods marketplace is a secondary source of Plugins, and they are unique ones not available anywhere else. The quandary is for those who only use BuzzTouch.com, which means they cannot use plugins from secondary marketplaces. Sure, we can try to get one of those unique plugins uploaded into a BuzzTouch.com account -- it is not an easy nor a quick process. Question -- Is it the right action to ignore and exclude the majority of BuzzTouch developers, who are not self-hosted? Also, isn't there more money to be made at the Primary marketplace? Why would secondary marketplaces thrive? What niche are they serving? Is it for the plugins that are not plug-n-play, meaning they require fine-tuning at the ObjC or Java levels before the plugin is truly integrated into a mobile app? MrDavid has done a great service by setting up a secondary marketplace for plugins. Especially while the Primary marketplace is closed to new entries. What happens after the Primary marketplace re-opens and the plugin format has significantly changed? Will the secondary marketplaces evolve and catch up? Why would a Plugin Developer use a Secondary marketplace when it will (soon?) be easy to upload his new plugin without having to undergo a long review process? Please understand that I love the "WordPress way" of the Free and Premium marketplaces. Due to it's architecture, The "BuzzTouch way" can't be an exact clone of the WordPress ecosystem. Lets have an open discussion on how to also serve the BT.com-hosted developers. Love to hear your thoughts. -- Niraj

Hey David, I like the message plugin, but can you add a feature where you can send messages online and when the user goes into the app the message appears? Adam

Hi Niraj Just read your comments and found them interesting. I was fortunate enough to met with David And Susan yesterday at the Buzztouch Day in Oxford, UK. This was a question I put to Susan and she told me that there will be a big shake up of the main BT market and control panel that would give plugin developers greater freedom to publish plugins without the current and very long process that is now. From what saw yesterday, exciting times are ahead. In regards to BT Mods, I don't think there will be any issues with the two market places and I like the fact that BT Mods has plugins that you cannot get in the main market store. What became clear to me yesterday was, BT would like to create an ecosystem that creates jobs and prosperity for all that engages in the platform. I currently feel for the current plugin developers who have decided to hold back on some plugins to sell privately or through BT Mods, to get a return for their hard work and labour. What we need to work on, is ways to encourage all BT users to invest and buy the plugins to keep the market growing. Currently too many BT users don't seem to want to really build good quality apps and are happy to use the basic plugins available, which is a shame as there are some really good plugins.

Hello Dragon I am glad you had a chance to meet David and Susan in person, they are A1 fantastic people! You now understand the sincerity of the BuzzTouch company and it's people. Several times, David has mentioned the design aspect of plugins is lacking. I agree. And that can lead to a poorly designed app. Simply providing fields on a form to add colors is not sufficient. Perhaps a set of design templates and guides might help move the BuzzTouch community further down the path of "this app looks good". I am really stoked that you guys had a BuzzDay. I guarantee that you will be reflecting on Saturday for months to come. :-) -- Niraj

Hi Niraj! Sorry it has taken me so long to respond, obviously, I have thought of this before and after the creation of the BTM Marketplace, and here is my thoughts for you.. I will section them so you can respond to them and/or I just like keeping things in order! ------------------ advanced plugins ------------------ As far as I know, with talking to david and hearing from other plugin developers, david does not want complicated non plug-n-play plugins on the market. These (like the login pro or even kittsy's favorites plugin) may confuse and throw off first comers to buzztouch, or even their market plugin purchase experience (and stop them from purchasing any other plugins in the future). This is totally understandable, david wants a eco system of -click, install, and it "just works"-, most of the plugins on the BTM Market are not like that. Since the new BT.com market will allow anything to be submitted and go live instantly, I'm not sure how david would be stopping these from coming in to be honest, unless he changes his stance on advanced plugins. ------------------ the sale of mods ------------------ Then consider this: buzztouch has never even hinted at supporting mods or the sale of mods, there have been 16,000 downloads of mods on buzztouchmods.com - thats a small third party site, so people DO use and install these. Some of them are super advanced and bring super features like COPY YOUR APP, backup your server, etc etc. The BTM Marketplace allows those developers to now SELL those modifications in a proper market format. That's huge. ------------------ Question -- Is it the right action to ignore and exclude the majority of BuzzTouch developers, who are not self-hosted? ------------------ You're correct! It's probably not the best idea to exclude buzztouch.com hosted users from the BTM Marketplace plugins. The problem is that there is no proper way to take a BTM Plugin and use it on an app hosted by buzztouch.com, simply because the architecture is how it is (in essence, we have no choice but to only cater to self-hosted users). The only way to install a plugin on buzztouch.com is to install from the market, obviusly if it's from a different market that's impossible. ------------------ Why would secondary marketplaces thrive? What niche are they serving? Is it for the plugins that are not plug-n-play, meaning they require fine-tuning at the ObjC or Java levels before the plugin is truly integrated into a mobile app? ------------------ So I think I touched on these, but I'll post my "written" response to this question below: 1. Official Plugin Market Drought. Sometimes the official plugin market closes for renovation or changes, during these times developers are forced to sell unreleased plugins behind the scenes. Instead, they can sell them here properly and remove them once the official market re-opens. 2. Modifications The official Buzztouch Plugin Market does NOT support the sale of Self Hosted Modifications. Here you can find "mods" to your server that may be for sale by other php developers. These mods enhance your self hosted server setup. 3. Rejected Plugins Plugins may from time to time get rejected from the official market due to quality control, similarities to one already live on the market, or they are not fully working (but still functional). We can take the rejections and let the buzztouch market stay top-notch. 4. Database Powered Plugins Some plugins may require database changes to store certain data with php and display data from a database. Buzztouch does not let plugin developers create or modify database tables (for good reason). Plugin developers can submit those type of plugins here. 5. Advanced Plugins A lot of plugins are extremely advanced and require all kinds of code changes, SDK additions, and more. These are usually impractical for the official market and can be sent over here for our code savvy ready-to-hack-it-up community. ------------------ What happens after the Primary marketplace re-opens and the plugin format has significantly changed? Will the secondary marketplaces evolve and catch up? Why would a Plugin Developer use a Secondary marketplace when it will (soon?) be easy to upload his new plugin without having to undergo a long review process? ------------------ So I touched up on this too, but yes, we will evolve and strive to be better and better. We already offer features that the market doesn't offer (yet). For one we offer a personal and commercial licence for all plugins and mods for sale. Kittsy has sold a commercial licence already (and made $200 in one day from that sale) currently that's impossible for buzztouch.com's market. That's a huge incentive to sell on the BTM Market if you are worried about licences and what people will do with your plugin after purchase. The idea of making $200 a day here and there is also great. In addition, you have 2 other big incentives: when a plugin is purchased, the developer gets paid instantly. and when this plugin developer gets paid, he/she gets the full 100% payment, we take no cuts. ------------------ ------------------ So hope that explains a little, I think even with the new open market format buzztouch will be pushing these will still be a place for plugins and developers at the BTM Marketplace. Niraj, would love to continue discussing... let me know what you think, and I apologize in advance for my horrible grammar! David https://buzztouchmods.com/market
