New to IOS and background image/menu button image probelms

I am building a simple app mainly using nested menu button screens. Each menu button screen as a background image that has picture and text in it and then the menu buttons at the bottom of the screen that can be scrolled across the bottom for more options. 1 problem: I am running into this this. When I developed it in Android the menu button images display just fine and were at the bottom of the screen. However when I have started to code it in Xcode the images do not appear. I have them loaded in the BT_images folder and copied it over to the project. Also, the buttons are not at the bottom of the screen. 2 problem: The top of the background image is cut off by the banner at the top with time and battery stage. How do I get the back ground image to not be covered by that? Thanks for the help!

I figured out part of problem 1. I can now see the images by changing the opacity of the menu to 1 instead of 0 like I have it for android. I am still having the problem of the buttons not being at the bottom of the screen and problem 2. Thanks.

Ok the fix above only half way fixed it. When I change the Opacity to 1 the button images show up but they are very faint and faded. That isn't going to work either.
