I think I know why I can't seem to know...

I am so confused.... Here's my problem, I keep looking at instructions that are from everywhere(meaning years, versions). The new/old versions of: Eclipse BuzzTouch Android Google Maps API ...are all killing me. Maybe if I ask this way, I can get the correct instructions: I have: Android 2.3.6 Device/Phone Eclipse Version 3.8.2 Android ADT 22.2.1 Google Maps API v.2 Release Key I downloaded th BuzzTouch Android Zip Package of my app above the 3.0 BuzzTouch Version. Is that 2.0? So I am ultimately confused when a person says don't use the Debug Key, use the Release Key and when I follow step by step on instructions from 2011 and Galileo Eclipse when I have the new one. Please can someone help out with this? I really am trying to learn, but all the different codes for each version and instructions are clashing together and I am so confused. I don't want to give up, I just need a little assistance in how to decipher what I am supposed to read, watch and look for so I can finish this app and become a member. I would love to get to a point where I could segment all the versions so people could pick which ones they have, but development and upgrading goes so fast, it's impossible to do it myself. :)

If your Android phone runs v2.3.6, you'll want to compile with Buzztouch v2 Android projects. Buzztouch v3 targets a higher (newer) version of Android. Mark (GoNorthWest) has a bunch of video tutorials on which Eclipse Environment to use, I'd take a look on his YouTube Channel (www.youtube.com/gonorthwest) and watch a couple. Use the 'Juno' Eclipse rather than Galileo. http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html Most of the stuff for BT/Android "v2" used to use the Google Map API v1, which has now been deprecated, or phased out. BT 'v3' uses only 1 Google API Key for a project; BT 'v2' could use both an API key for development (debug) and another API key for distribution (release). Your ADT version number is slightly higher than mine. That should be OK. When you 'setup' a BTv2 Android project, you have to change the API from Android 2.2 to Google 2.2 (Both API 8) in project properties. That's a biggie. Chris1 will be straightening out the Documentation, but there is a lot of it, so he may not be able to catch up as quickly as some might prefer. But if you get stuck, give the forum a yell! Cheers! -- Smug
