3 iOS Apps Approved Yesterday

Just wanted to share that 3 apps I created with BT tools have been approved by Apple. They function well on iOS 7, but they were not optimized for that. I spent a few weeks creating the apps on XCode 4, and the iOS 6.0 SDK. I submitted the apps just a couple of days after iOS 7 was released, and was definitely concerned about rejection because it has the iOS 6 look. I wouldn't think Apple would be so quick to reject apps just because they don't look iOS 7-ish, but you never know. An interesting thing did occur: like I said, I developed with XCode for and iOS 6. I upgraded to XCode 5 right before submitting, and oh boy did the app look different (oops!). It had the iOS 7 look, but it didn't function smoothly. I did some digging around and found a way to get the iOS 6.1 SDK into XCode 5, and I compiled the app with the iOS 6.1 SDK. This allowed the app to have the iOS 6 look, even on iOS 7. I did include the new icon dimensions for iOS 7 in my package. It took Apple 7 days to approve the 3 apps. They are all functionally identical - they just involve different products that the company I work for offers. Thanks to all that helped me get through to this point, and I'm really looking forward to optimizing for iOS 7 when the BT tools are ready!

Trish! Great to hear from you, thank you, and thanks everyone! Links to the app are below. Our customers are locksmiths, commercial door hardware distributors, integrators, installers, technicians, and security consultants...so these apps help them with the door hardware and electronic security products they install and maintain. We often don't think too much about the doors we go through, or how buildings stay safe (think fire) and secure (keep the bad people out), but there are a lot of choices, standards, codes, and needs. These apps also help our sales reps when explaining our solutions to customers. The target audience is not large in number, but those who have discovered these apps find great value in them. I've thoroughly enjoyed making them, and participating in the Buzztouch experience. http://appstore.com/schlagemechanicalhowto http://appstore.com/vonduprinhowto http://appstore.com/lcnhowto The original app I made back in 2011 with Buzztouch 1.4 and updated this year with the new BT tools is: http://appstore.com/schlageelectronicshowto
