If (image is not local) then (use URL), then from then on use local (unless told otherwise)

Here’s another one. What if the app looked locally for an image first. if it does not see it in the project it uses the URL as a backup source. and stores the image locally where it is accessed for future use. That way we only get the delayed download and page load the first time? I personally prefer hosting my images at URL especially when developing to reduce the back and forth and extra time needed to rebuild the project when optimizing image placement etc. But i definitely worry about the load delay after every refresh of the code. So maybe it behaves similarly to the way that the app manages the config.txt file. checking if it has changed before downloading and replacing within the project. €

If you specify a URL source for the image, this is what should be happening: 1. Image is not in cache 2. Fetch image from URL 3. Store fetched image in cache : : : 4. Next time the image is referenced, it will check the cache. It finds the image -- yay! I think that meets your objective of image fetching being speedy for all times but the first time? -- Niraj

yes this sounds like what is happening...but i guess my question is why does it always seem to take so long to load a screen each time I hit refresh? Is it dumping the cache or something?

I agree, I shall ask David Book. Things are indeed talking a long time, several seconds when loading a screen that has many URL References. Takes several seconds rather than instantly.

I have also noticed of lately that refreshing HTML docs screens is very slow.

I have a menu of these items, should not take long to render: 1. Image header that is brought in via an URL 2. Seven rows, each with a URL-based thumbnail image 3. Each row has a Title and Description I shall check to the image sizes to ensure they are slimmed-down. Even the subsequent views are slow to load. -- Niraj

yup...and do you also find that if you close the app and come back in...even without refreshing, that it seems like it is regrabbing the images from the URLs? (u get the spinner...and delay on the bg)?
