Hello from sunny Southern California!

I'm a California lawyer with a dream of reinventing the way law is practiced through technology, and now particularly through mobile apps. Mobile devices have given wings to a decade old concept and business plan I have been nurturing called LexMatrix. Browse my profile and let's become friends, colleagues, and who knows, may be even affiliates or partners.

Welcome to Buzztouch! I can imagine a ton of ways the legal profession (and many others) can benefit from the advances in technology. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with, and don't hesitate to post with any questions. Tons of us ready and waiting to help out! Mark

I think that'll be nifty! Welcome to Buzztouch! Mark (GoNorthWest) has a slew of nice tutorials on his You Tube Channel (http://www.youtube.com/gonorthwest) and the "Buzztouch University" videos are pretty must see, to gain an idea of the 'mile high view' of how it all works. Since law is mostly documentation, you'll probably find about everything you'll need to put together a first class app. It just takes a bit of imagination and persistence, both lawyerly qualities ;) And when the inevitable questions pop up, give the forum a yell. Cheers! -- Smug

Greetings. I've built a few apps for a couple of lawyers/firms. The most popular feature/feedback I've found is the ability to read other client reviews. Folks want to know. LexMatrix sounds interesting. Is there such a thing as Non Complex Litigation?

Thank you for the warm welcome gentlemen. As men, we are prone to not taking the time to stop and ask for directions when we believe we can intuit our way to our destination (of course women lambast us for that, especially if we become hopelessly lost), but we are creatures that thirst for immediate gratification, and often times succeed despite logic and reason, and ourselves. This may be one of these "dude moments." I have a very simplistic concept to bring mobile app value to an otherwise practically useless pdf or MSWord document that otherwise has high market use, demand, and even universal availability. To a large degree this involves placing active hyperlinks to navigate within the document/app itself. My initial lookaround here hasn't provided me with an immediate solution of how to do it. I have pdf and MSWord beta documents that are fully functional in those forms, but I am uncertain that if I put them through the buzztouch app conversion process without more that they will still be hyperlink functional as an iOS and Android app. I have the necessary BT plugins I believe. Is there something specific I should address for hyperlink intra-app navigation? If not I will learn the BT U basic app creation process and proceed from there. Thanks for your input! MR

LOL. Discovery of BT is def one of those "dude" moments. For sure start SMALL and keep it BASIC until you understand how it all fits together. Then look at expanding. The HTML Pro plug-in is what you'll need to link to app screens from within a PDF document. https://www.buzztouch.com/plugins/plugin.php?pid=77049F441E270A6C7AD4433 You can also use CustomURL schemes to link to screens. This is more advanced but Niraj just knocked it out of the park with this killer tutorial on how to do it. https://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/BuzzTouch%20URL%20Scheme.pdf http://writingabluestreak.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/the_dude_abides.jpg

Thanks! You just saved me countless hours of absorbing stuff I don't quite need at this moment. Once I've gotten a handle on constructing my navigational features, the rest should flow naturally and smoothly. An unrelated aside: I'm a grad of Johns Hopkins. We hold 44 national championships in lacrosse, perhaps the fastest growing sport in America. I never thought to see in my lifetime the Irish as a serious contender in the NCAA lacrosse tournament, but there you are, and have come ever so close to the trophy at that. Hat's off to you. Oh, and my dad was a USC Trojan. Fight On, dude!
