2.1.9 pem upload error- need a little help please

I get the following error with 2.1.9 self hosted when upload .pem file. mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function mcrypt_encrypt() in /var/www/vhosts/xxxxxx.com/httpdocs/login/bt_v15/bt_app/bt_pushNotifications.php on line 459, referer: http://xxxxxxx.com/login/bt_v15/bt_app/bt_pushNotifications.php?appGuid=EAA632C75FBD93B42D257AC76

looks like mcrypt is not installed.. hmmm interested.

well.. solved it myself. If anyone else runs into pem upload issues it might be because of mcrypt is not installed. Check the server logs and you should see the php fatal error. If that is the case.. then follow this instructions to install mcrypt (http://blog.plite.org/neo_one2199/2013/07/16/install-php-mcrypt-extension-on-centos-6-x86_64-in-3-supper-easy-steps/). Obviously this is for advanced users because you need ssh root access to your server or vps.
