Eclipse or Android Studio

Hey, want to start developing for Android. What should I use, eclipse or studio? There is an eclipse how to install, but seems outdated. Any how to on studio? Thanks Miguel

Eclipse. Once you set it up for the particular app, you just forget about it and it is not a hindrance any more.

Android Studio is in beta, so it's constantly changing, and somewhat unstable. My advice is to use the Eclipse ADT Bundle. It has everything you need in a convenient zip package that just needs to be unzipped, and you're ready to go! http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html It's what I use, and I love it! Mark

Still in Eclipse buddy, as above. Beta for final dev can be a dangerous thing! Fitba is back.

More than 80 android apps on Google playstore in my dev account and many more than that i did for others but i still feel safe with Eclipse. No doubt eclipse is the best IDE available out there for android development.

I'm a lone voice on here, but I prefer Android Studio. It's more responsive from a design perspective, easier to compile apps, and is constantly getting better.

I'm on the fence, leaning towards Eclipse. I agree with Chris in many ways, but currently support is still overwhelmingly in Eclipse' favor. Cheers! -- Smug
