Introducing the BTM Marketplace! 8 NEW plugins & mods!

Hi all, For the past few weeks I've been working extremely hard to make a Marketplace for BTMods that allows developers to sell third party plugins and modifications properly (previously you could only release them for free on BTMods). Here is the final results: https://buzztouchmods.com/market.php Big thanks to multiple people for helping on this project, especially @SmugWimp for lending a hand in testing purchases and letting me know that it was past my bedtime. We currently have FIVE brand new plugins and one new modification for sale. If you have any questions (like, why this market exists, plugin/mod developer questions, ect) you can read the FAQ here: https://buzztouchmods.com/market_faq.php Thank you so much and happy purchasing! The Market is now open to submissions, and more submissions will be coming soon. The market will constantly be updated as we figure out new things and adapt to feedback. Here is that link one more time: https://buzztouchmods.com/market.php Let me know what you guys think! David

David That looks awesome! Buzztouchmods just keep getting better! Looking forward to buying from there. Will the same plugins offered in Buzztouch.com be offered there or is it exclusive? Good luck with it!

Thanks @mysps! It would be exclusive, the point of this market is to host things that may not be appropriate for the official market (see FAQ), if they do find their way on the market they will be removed from the BTM Marketplace to avoid duplicate sales. Cheers, David https://buzztouchmods.com/market.php

Great news for Buzztouch's self hosted community. I am pleased to announce the Add To Favorites plugin is available for sale. To see a video of it in action link below. (Special thanks to Dragon007 for the video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlJWA13TEgA&feature=share&list=UUbP1n__701ZT328SHsNRHqg There are a few lines of code which need to be added into each file, but there are comprehensive instructions included. Some of Dragon007 apps with the favourites in use My Soundtapes https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/my-soundtapes/id628482583?mt=8&uo=4 Etham Basden https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/etham-basden/id662055639?mt=8&uo=4 Some other's who have purchased have used it to bookmark certain pdfs out of massive lists, and a recipe book.

Congratulations, David! This is another great reason to self-host your app--in addition to the various modifications you can make to your Control Panel, you can also access additional plugins that aren't available on the Buzztouch Plugin Market. As the Buzztouch developers create new code that is useful to apps but that aren't really plugins, this can be a way to exchange the code and charge for it.

Thanks Mark. Exactly Susan, if you manage to code something cool, make a self-hosted mod or an advanced plugin that uses code tweaks or database calls, this market is a great place to sell your work at. I'm going to get new submissions up soon from other members, totally need a day or two for a break now to spend with Sam. Will have phone on me for posts/support if I disappear. I'll get on that right now Chris, perfect timing. I wanted to let everyone know that @CakeBit totally found a huge security flaw in the new marketplace, he sent me a message and I fixed it right up - super big thanks to him for reporting! David https://buzztouchmods.com/market.php

@David, Will you be making a support section or dedicated forum section like you do the other plugins. For support and installation? For example Chris's new plugin looks awesome but its not exactly very clear in the description what it does and the difference of the original login plugin. "When a user successfully logs in, those properties will be saved to the preferences file where other plugins can make use of them." What properties are available? Just curious, of course its possible that I confuse myself :)

@mysps His long description was cut off, were updating that asap. No support forum as of yet but bouncing a ton of ideas. For now plugin developers that submit to the BTM Marketplace should create a "support" thread on the bt forum and we will link to it there for support. David https://buzztouchmods.com/market.php

Looks like David updated the description for what I had originally submitted. To answer your question, @mysps, you can set the properties to whatever you want. For instance, let's say you are setting up users on your control panel and want to add their email address to the account so another plugin can take advantage of it. You would add a property (let's say it's called "emailAddress"), and fill in the information for that user. Now, let's say you are building a plugin (we'll say iOS to keep things simple) and want to collect the user's email address to send off to the cloud. You would simply write the following code in your new plugin: NSString *userEmailAddress = BT_strings getPrefString:@"emailAddress"]; And that's it! You can create an unlimited number of properties for your users. And by using the class method "isLoggedIn", your new plugin can make sure that the user has logged in before proceeding.

I should add - there's also a "reset password" option on my login plugin for users that might have forgotten their password. Of course, that will require the "username" is a valid email address and that your server is capable of sending out emails.

Another great milestone for Buzztouch. A few of the things up my sleeve are not going to be suitable for the 'traditional' BT market due to the complexity of the configuration. This will provide a way for 'advanced' plugins (those with more than just a control panel) to be offered to those who don't mind making advanced code changes to obtain a rich user experience. Nice going Mr. David! :) Cheers! -- Smug

All we can ask is for the plugin developers to support their apps. I will give 100% all I can ask is to email me direct not post in forum posts from yesteryear

Awesome! Nice work on the new market, looks like an awesome resource for devs! That slot machine looks like a hoot. I may have to grab that and have some fun with it. Will also have to look into that Favorites and Calendar code sooner than later! Thanks BTM!

@atrain would recommend playing with the favorites screen before anything else, so cool. Thanks for the nice comment. Text me, I lost your number! @smug, thanks to you too, I love staying up late and chatting. David https://buzztouchmods.com/market

@MrDavid, does the slot plugin contain scores or coins or anything other than a spinner?

@mysps nope, it literally just randomly spins 4 images in a row per button press (with a nice spinning animation). Nothing fancy happens if you win or lose, but functions could be made to make something "cool" happen when all the stars align. This is the reason it's only $4.99.
