However nearly every time I try to open Eclipse I get the above error. Eclipse does open occasionally open and appears to work fine, although I haven't started to make apps yet as I'd like to get this problem sorted first. There doesn't appear to be any pattern to when it will and won't work, the only thing I noticed is that it never works when Firefox is running. However when it's not it rarely works anyway. If you're not sure which version you're using, just go up to Java.com and download the latest version being offered. You want the 'JRE' or Java Runtime Environment.
