context menu new to 2.1.9?

Is the context menu new to 2.1.9? If so it says it requires core 3.0. Has anyone gotten this to work? I have created a context menu and added to a screen but it does not seem to work.

I haven't played with it yet, although @worker73 is using them in the recent 'BT Demo' app he/they built with the new SDK we just got. It works in there icons and everything, so it must work. Again I haven't messed with it, but you can ask him/them how it's done. Here's a link to the post about the demo app: https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=9C9D93FB1E71CC26A0B63E7&currentPage=1 Cheers! -- Smug

Can someone from buzz touch comment on the context menu feature that is new to 2.1.9. I can not find any documentation on it and can not get it to display in the simulator or ad-hoc distribution.

I think I've got it. It's not in 'every' plugin, yet. But you see where you build menus, right? Now go to one of the 'refurbished' plugins. In this instance, let's say the "HTML Doc" plugin. So, go to the HTML Doc control panel, and select 'Top Navigation Bar'. That will allow you to select the context menu, and will add a new JSON parameter in your plugin config: "contextMenuNickname":"options" 'options' is the name I gave my context menu. It seems to work just fine. Cheers! -- Smug

You might try cleaning your project. I haven't tried this on iOS yet, because I'm fooling around with Android this morning... but it work on Android. Cheers! -- Smug

@Smug: What do you think it will look like on iOS, the plugins say: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ iOS: Adds a menu icon to top nav bar. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jake

Jake, I'd say it's an 'unimplemented feature', lol! I ran a test on iOS and haven't seen the menu. I snooped in the code of the plugin it was supposed to be in, and didn't see any mention of it. In fact the only place I found the words 'contextMenu' was in the config file, so it may not be implemented on the iOS side yet, because Android was the major update reason. I suspect that will be soon after, or concurrent with any kind of iOS 7 updates that we're forced into. time will tell :) Cheers! -- Smug

A few mentions of this in the past few weeks. When the iOS 7 OS is released (Sept 20?) we'll get to testing the Buzztouch Core for iOS v3.0. This includes the Context Menu options. We realize this is a tricky transition - it always is - every new OS brings these challenges. In this case you're seeing some options in the control panel that are only for Android today (like the context menus) because we updated Android first this time. Unusual eh'...we normally do iOS first. LOL. So, Android Core 3.0 is out (finding and fixing small things daily) and iOS Core 3.0 will be out a week or so after the public release of iOS 7. Next up, after both 3.0 Cores are done....it's back to automating the plugin market so devs can add their own creations to the list without waiting for us!
