Really dumb question but very curious...

What computer/code language is Buzztouch using? I know this is probably a very dumb question, but was very curious what it was.

It's a hybrid of many many technologies. The self hosting and BT Website is primarily "PHP" driven. Not sure what kind of database on the back end, but my guess would be "MySQL" but it might be PostgreSQL, MSSQL, or some other SQL engine. The 'code' portion is divided between "Java" for Android, and "Objective C" for Xcode/iPhone. Almost all of these languages are 'similar' having roots in the 'C' language, but they're different enough to be different. http://www.php.net http://www.mysql.com http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_(programming_language) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Objective-C What makes Buzztouch unique is the way that the code is written, allowing plugin functionality and very easy interaction between classes. As well as the convenience of having the same master 'configuration' file be able to drive both Android and iOS platforms so easily. This took a bit of thinking, and I always am amazed at folks who have the 'mile high view'. I can only see a few feet in front of me. Cheers! -- Smug

Great answer, Smug! @gottalovemac : You can also download the BT Server yourself and check it all out. All the code is there, except some of the backend magic that David uses to generate the iOS and Android packages. Mark
