Unable to Prepare package for download ??

Hi I have installed Buzztouch on a localhost, I created a simple test app and went to download the source code and encountered the following message. Something Went Wrong. The packaging API had trouble downloading this app's icon from the control panel. This only happens when I click on prepare the package for download on Android. The Mac option works perfectly fine. I have gone into the control panel, looked at the source code, located the url for the icon, entered it into a browser and the icon image shows. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Hello, Try uploading the icon to your control panel again. Sometimes things get wonky for one reason or another, and that often takes care of it. Mark

Hi Thanks for replying, I have tried that several times and I have also changed the image as well. It makes no difference, I still get the error message.

Hi, Does this give any clues? http://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=25E171AF0EB1BC56620DF3E&currentPage=1 with only this information it's hard to tell and since you've installed the software on a localhost I can't login to see what's going on. Can you share your JSON data? Maybe this gives us a clue. Best Regards, Danny

Hi, In your config.php you can find this line: define("APP_ERROR_REPORTING", "0"); Please change it to this and save it: define("APP_ERROR_REPORTING", "1"); Now try again to download the source code package and if there is an error please post the exact error here. Best Regards, Danny

Hi, Did you use the same icon as before? What if you enter this url in your browser: http://localhost/buzz/bt_v15/bt_app/bt_appDownload_AJAX.php?appGuid=EA29C5704BDD63C1414012503&whatPlatform=ANDROID It's really hard to find where this goes wrong. Don't you have a server to test everything out? If this is the case it would be easier for others to help in case of trouble. Best Regards, Danny

What does the source code show for the page at the 'Application Home' link, per that other thread?

Hi, Thanks Chris for jumping in. I'm a bit out of possible causes (without actually seeing and testing things). and what is the output of this url: localhost/buzz/bt_v15/bt_app/bt_appDownload_AJAX.php?appGuid=EA09B0D6DFCCBE2551C35B265&whatPlatform=IOS Best Regards, Danny

Ah - so that's your problem. The url shows localhost, rather than the domain for your website. The self-hosted software sends some data, including the url to your app's icon image, to buzztouch.com when preparing a source code download. Since your url isn't valid, it returns the error. I would double check your config.php file on the root directory of your self-hosted setup. There's probably an error there.

Hi Chris I'm not sure I am with you here... I haven't got a domain for a website, everything has been set up local. I am able to prepare and download the app for Mac. It's just the Android version that has the problem. If I paste the following url from the page source into my browser, I see the image (icon) http://localhost/buzz/files/applications/EA09B0D6DFCCBE2551C35B265/images/B72BEBDA21514BCCA79951E_icon.jpg Is there something specific in the config file that I need to look for and possibly change.

My guess is you need to have a website to make it work. Not sure why it works with iOS and not Android, but the URL to the image definitely gets passed to Buzztouch.com in preparing the package. There must be something different in the way Buzztouch prepares the package for Android that requires a valid image url to be sent. David would need to offer some explanation here to know more.

Hi, I think Chris is on the right track here. Didn't realize the domainname, that is needed for the self hosted software to work. BTW there are a lot of cheap (and free hosting solutions). Do a search on this forum and you'll find a couple of threads about this. Best Regards, Danny

Hi, Thanks for your replies.. So, Buzztouch can't be used on a localhost and requires web hosting, is this correct?
