Yet another introduction

Hello all! I'm new here and just finding my way around. I'm working (or at least hoping to work) on an app that would make a large and complicated text accessible 'On the go'. It's really tempting to just bust in and start (making mistakes, ahum) but I'm trying to be good and do some lessons at BTU first. I've heard lots of great things about the forum here, so I'll try to not suffer alone when I run into problems and come looking for help here instead. Looking forward to getting to know people and learn lots.

Hey @Bluebells, Welcome to Buzztouch! I'd encourage you to watch the videos AND bust in and make mistakes! BT is super easy, and you'll find that playing around teaches you a ton. Just create a test app or something, where it doesn't matter what happens. Let us know if you need anything! Mark

Thanks Mark! I've kind of busted in (with my test app idea) and am battling with the whole Eclipse/Android SDK thing. I've pulled a few hairs out, but then had a look in the Android subforum and found this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFGF3_r9YIA) which I hope will make things clearer! What's the betting this is actually covered in the BTU Android Path? Oh well. The scenic route is nice too...ahum. Thanks again! Blue

Indeed, the scenic route is often nice as well. It's all about the journey, not so much the destination! Mark

Many thanks, Mark! I was following along with your video on installing Eclipse. However, when I unzipped the ADT bundle, there was no Eclipse program in it. So now I'm trying to download it again, as well as the latest version of Eclipse too. Perhaps I did something wrong when I dl'd it the first time? Or have the powers that be changed their set-up since you made your tutorial?

Mark, yes, you're right. I don't know what happened, but I dl'd it afresh and eclipse was in there. Your tutorials are invaluable - thank you for taking the time and effort to make them. It's much appreciated! Blue
