How Do I Open The App In Eclipse

Im using Eclipse Ver. 3.8.2 but cannot figure out how to get the .zip file I downloaded(App I made) to open in eclipse, im on windows 7. The directions with the .zip file are for mac users and a different version, can someone please guide me through on how to do this? Don't want my journey to end so soon.

The instructions in the pdf file are applicable to all eclipse versions and also both for mac and pc. In any case follow the steps mentioned below. You need to download the project file from BT. After that in Eclipse you need to press File option (on top of window). Then select Import option--> choose Existing projects in to workspace--> press next--> select this option- "Select archive file" and browse the location where you downloaded your BT project (zip file)--> press finish. Your project will now show in the project explorer. Remember to compile the app for Google API Level 8. If you dont have google api 8 then download it from the android sdk manager which you can find it at the top with a droid icon with a downward arrow on eclipse window. To select api you need to right click on the project file and select Properties-->Android--> and then select Google API 8.

Hi @Schyler, Welcome to Buzztouch! Here's a video I did that shows how to go from the BT control panel all the way into running the app on the Emulator: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NV3Ofi2602I There are also numerous videos there that show you how to set up Eclipse if needed. Sandeep's instructions above are spot on...I just offer the videos in case you need a visual. Mark

You'll want to target your project to Google API 8, though API 11 should work as well. * Open up the SDK manager from within Eclipse (there's an icon on the menu bar), and make sure the Google and associated Android APIs are downloaded. * After that, right click on your project, select Properties > Android, and select the appropriate Google API. Then hit OK, wait for the workspace to refresh, and try running your app again. Mark
